Massages & Holistic

Hopefully following your treatment you will feel relaxed & sleep soundly. Here is some advice to aid this & your how your body processes your treatment. Please take time to fully read this aftercare.

Drink plenty of water. On average we should drink 2 litres of water daily. This is especially important after a treatment to ensure toxins are flushed out.

Increased water intake & body detoxification can see an increase in urination & dedication.

Get plenty of rest, try to avoid any strenuous exercise for 24 hours following your treatment. This includes avoiding long drives.

Eat a light meal following anything too heavy can leave you feeling sluggish.

Eat a balanced diet including plenty of fruit & vegetables.

Get plenty of rest following & in general we should aims for around 8 hours of sleep a night. If you are struggling to sleep or drift off you can.... Meditate before bed, take a long bath or shower, avoid using your phone in the hour before & whilst in bed as the blue light inhibits sleep, listen to relaxing music, burn/use an ultrasonic diffuser to emit & an oil/blend that aids sleep such as lavender or ylang ylang, don't go to bed too late. Sleep aids mental & physical well-being.

Exercise regularly, aim for at least 3 times a week something that raises your heart rate.

Pilates & yoga are great for body/joints & mental health. These along with mindfulness/meditation classes can really benefit. I have a couple of people that I recommend but feel free to research yourself find someone that works for you (this is key). You can also get mindfulness apps on your phone.

Treatments are recommended regularly your specific recommendations you will be advised of these.

Should you not follow your aftercare or maybe had underlying stress/ailments prior to your treatment this can lead to something we call a healing crisis. This may present itself as a headache/dizziness/nausea/feeling emotional. This is perfectly normal & your body's way of processing the treatment in order to get to a positive place. If you do experience this please ensure you get plenty or rest/sleep & drink plenty of water.

Avoid any tea/coffee/alcohol/caffeinated drinks as these inhibit detoxification.

If you have had a deep tissue massage it is normal to feel sore/bruised the following few days. You can ice (using a wheat pack from the fridge or a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a damp tea towel) for 5 minutes per area per hour following to reduce inflammation & promote muscle health.

Pre-exercise you can apply heat with a hot water bottle, wheat pack or if you gym has a sauna to warm up muscle & improve their flexibility.

If you have had an aromatherapy treatment please leave oils on for as long as possible following to allow them to have maximum benefit. You will have been told if your oil contained a photosensitive oil such as lemon if it did please avoid sunbathing/sunbeds until washed off.

If you start to feel a burning/itching sensation or see a rash following treatment you may be experiencing an allergic reaction. Please wash off & seek medical advise & inform me so I can avoid using the product again.
